A handmade, wheel thrown, small teapot featuring a raw driftwood side handle found on the shores of the Great Lakes. "The Rusted Wheelbarrow" is thrown from Black Mountain clay and fired to cone 10+ in the kiln. Afterwards it is glazed with a homemade shino glaze and fired to vitrification. The results are some nice carbon trapping highlights among a white-gray glossy finish. A marriage of earthly elements, this teapot is perfect for an individual cup of tea. Has a multi-hole spout for larger loose-leaf teas.
Measures approximately 8" W (including handle) x 4.5" D x 5.5" H, holds approximately 6.5 oz.
Hand wash only. Over time & depending on use, the handle will age naturally. You can choose to give it a light sanding with 400+ grit sandpaper or use a natural wood oil or wax to seal the wood. Please note that the later will give it a different, more finished look.
