An absolute tea culture classic by legendary Daisosho and Grand Teamster of Japan”, Sen Sōshitsu XV (currently 98 years old!). Perhaps one of the most exhaustive recordings of the ritual of tea. Originally published in 1979, this is a beautiful copy of the rare, hard to find, limited 1981 hardcover & slipcased edition. 1 of 500 copies in this edition. Beautiful binding and appears as if it was published and printed yesterday. Sōshitsu describes how he mastered Chado, "The Way of Tea" from a personal perspective as well as the technical & practical aspects of the custom. This book was originally written by the 15th Grand Tea master in the lineage of Sen Rikyu (born in Japan 1522-1591) a Japanese tea master who perfected the tea ceremony and raised it to the level of an art.
